This is a close-up of a lacquered drawer unit that I bought in Hanoi, over a year and a half ago. I remember filling in the papers for it to be shipped to the UK, thinking that it could take as long as it liked, because I wouldn't be wanting it for a while! Just one of the many things, unwrapped from last week's delivery.

Another important package arrived today though - in the shape of my mum! She pitched up this afternoon, as I finished work, so I took the bus out to the airport to meet her. We then went to my local bar/cafe less than 2 minutes walk from the flat, which she likes, for supper al-fresco.
