OMG it's AFP!

i havered for much of the morning, while i was crawling out of bed at 745am on a sunday (!!!) and getting to work and starting the day with a fiddly complex thing that i *think* i got right and continuing with muchosmuchos wordage to be revised by me on my ownsome. then i decided that the wordage could wait and trundled up the road to forbidden planet to join the Q for a book signing by amanda <f***ing> palmer. and was very pleased i went, as not only did i make a new friend in the Q (if you're reading, hi jen!) but also got to see amanda play the ukelele while standing on a table! two chords in and i knew what it was, too (tho i suspect that shows my age as much as my taste...) if you're never heard 'science fiction double feature' played on ukelele, you've never lived... you could try this clip, which is amanda in dresden dolls mode doing the same song, tho with keyboard.

at this point i should thank NC for being the one to alert me to the utter aceness of miss AFP and her work: thanks petal!

EDIT: it seems that last year was a musical day, too...
