Murphy's Law
The last week, we carefully planned our track and evasive track for Hurricane Humberto. Everything was under control and planned in a way that we would stay clear of any tropical development for at least 200 nautical miles. Yesterday, Humberto crossed our bow and was supposed to pass us at our starboard side at a distance of 238 miles. To our surprise we received a message from the hurricane centre in Miami that the remnants of Humberto were located 58 miles dead ahead of us on a heading straight at us. We immediately changed heading 45 degrees to port but experienced the passage of the centre of Humberto a few hours later. On the picture you'll see that is was a perfect Bull's Eye. Murphy did it again, one storm in the entire ocean and we're running exactly in the middle of it.
Right now the weather is much better, so no worries.
A small explanation: the red track is our track since departure Rotterdam, the green track is the storm track of Humberto and the red track on the left of this picture is the intended passage to get into the Gulf of Mexico with Tampico as destination.
