still buzzing
There are still some bees buzzing around the few buddleia flowers that remain on the bush. I'm quite surprised by this as I thought they disappeared in August and were replaced with wasps, which I haven't really seen this year.
I've been trying to blip them for a few days, but there is not enough light due to the heavy folliage on the plant. Today I remembered that the phone camera has a feature called "vingnette" which highlights what is in focus, and I was able to capture the bee using that. I've been blipping the bees quite often during the summer, having no problem getting near to them. However, there had been two bees on this flower and the 2nd one came for me after I had made the shot. Perhaps it was startled by what I presume is a kind of flash; or perhaps it was annoyed at getting disturbed when there is so little feeding around now.
