One previous owner!

Our former neighbour, who owned this property before us, bequeathed us just one of his showy gladioli. Personally I prefer the daintier magenta ones that grow wild in Cornwall but as I searched for a last minute blip the sun shone, casting a spotlight on the flower . It felt like a sign that its time had come. (We've hardly seen sun today, even though it was forecast.) It may not survive the garden reconstruction as I intend to dig up this bed this autumn.
