A busy .....
..... blip day.
At lunchtime today I went along to a mini blipmeet with Yearofhappy and RXS who is currently down in Yorkshire on (yet another ;) ) holiday. We met at a new coffee shop in Ilkley called Koffie and cake. There was a huge choice of cakes, all of which looked delicious. We were eventually joined by the lovely Mrs RXS and every hungry and very sweet little Ghengis.
As we were saying our goodbyes to the RXS', YOH spotted Spartan across the road so the three of us went to Bar Tat for another coffee and a bit of a catch up. Eventually YOH had to leave but as myself and Spartan still had a bit of time to spare we popped along to another new independent coffee shop in town called Tea and toast for another cuppa.
I eventually made it back home full of hot beverages only to receive a text from my neighbour Paddy, inviting me around for a cuppa and a catch up ( We've not seen each other to chat for weeks ). Having consumed more hot beverages in one day than I usually do in a week I then headed off back out with Mr M for the now routine Friday night visit to Bradford. Who should we bump in to at the train station but Spartan again, who was also heading to Bradford.
Myself and Mr M went for a curry at the Kashmir ( passing a lot of folk on their way to see the Rocky Horror picture show ( Blip )), before heading to the Castle for a few pints and a sing along with the eclectic group of musicians and characters who drink in there on a Friday night. New to us tonight was the lovely Nikky who has an extremely beautiful voice and smile to match. We were joined for the last pint by Spartan before all catching the last train back to Ilkley.
It's been a full and busy day off and it's been lovely to meet the RXS' earlier today ( as well as YOH and Spartan ). This photo hasn't really much to do with my day, but it does sum up how eclectic it's been. I've put a few more photos from today in a set here, but today's blip is .....
..... A busy blip day.
Edit : I thought I'd add a link to one of the tunes that Nikky sang, her version had all the spoken parts in a broad Yorkshire accent. It kind of suits the photo.
