Early Morning Marsupial
You need to be up at dawn to see these little creatures out and about. They are leaf-eating marsupials, related to kangaroos but are called Pandemelons.
They only grow to a maximum of 43cm body length and a weight of 6kg so are like a mini-kangaroo and very shy. I was lucky to spot this male and also a pregnant female early this morning in the Mary Cairncross Rainforest Reserve.
