Nature Growing Into Something Big ...

We just had to take Aaron to the hospital for a check up, everything went ok. on the way back to the car I spotted these beautiful little acorns, I have never seen them like this with one of them coming out of its outer shell, it is amazing.

EDIT ... someone just told me that it isnt the outer shell on this acorn it is ...

That is a Knopper Gall (I kid you not!). Inside you will find an egg shaped chamber with a single agamic Wasp! Gall wasps are tiny little creatures, barely noticed - but their galls can be easily spotted. There are about 90 species (42 of which use the Oak). Well spotted and caught.
