Wandering about Windsor

This is the second time overnighted inWindsor and moved on.

This is also a back blip.

We continued on to West Cork in Ireland the next day, but thought we could take in Windsor Castle before collapsing. So glad we purchased tickets in advance, only thought to do it right before we left.

We have toured many lavish manor houses both here and in the States, but that did not prepare us for the abundance of riches at Windsor. Overwhelming. The art collection alone is staggering. I actually would like to return, several times, and spend more time in just a few rooms - too much to take in at once but so glad we made the effort. Missed changing of the guards though.

We stayed at Rainworth House, a lovely B&B just outside of town and enjoyed our first pints of Guinness and some dinner at the Green Oak. I had chicken that was so rich in flavor I asked bout the seasoning and was told it was the black pudding. Our server wouldn't tell us what that was until we were finished. Pigs blood - eek!

No worries, we slept fine.
