Sea air, slot machines and the man I love.

Today is our 1st wedding anniversary and what a lovely day it has been.

We've escaped to the Lake District for a few days to a place that is very special in our heart's.

It's a lovely boutique hotel called No43 in arnside and we last came here just over two years ago and got engaged on the beach.

It is lovely coming back to celebrate our anniversary and look forward to the arrival of our first child.

As we walked along the beach, played on the old fashioned penny slot machines and ate lots of cake, my mind kept drifting back to where we were exactly a year ago.

Although happy in the moment, I longed to be taken back to our special day when we sealed our love for each other.

I'd have loved to been in my dress again, surounded by our lovely family and friends drinking, eating, dancing and laughing.

However I'm happy to be in the here and now, even though I'm going into my ninth week of morning sickness and living on a diet of bread and potaoes (and getting a carb face as a result!).

We've had the most amazing year and been lucky to have such good times.

I know life isn't all plain sailing and fun and laughter, so you have to bottle these happy moments and save them for a time you may just need them.
