Stormy Lake Erie

Rain fell all night and a good part of today. At about 4 pm, it looked as if the weather might clear, but a very short time later, rain was pouring down in buckets again. This was the scene at 5 pm when we drove down to the lake front to get this blip. If the horizon is any indication, the storm was moving on, but the lake was still angry, with waves smashing against the "sea wall" and the sky threatening more rain. I took this from the car window, parked alongside the lake. In better weather, the wall you can see through the spray is lined with fishermen and women, and a concession stand at the other end of the parking lot sells food, although I have no idea how many customers they attract. It's a popular spot throughout the summer. This evening there were five or six cars parked there with people watching the waves.

This looks almost like a black and white photo, but I shot it in living color. It's an indication of how grey the day has been.
