Cliff Courage

On our way home to Wellington we came through the town where I grew up. The cliff in the centre of this picture is where kids used to jump off into the Manawatu River below. I managed it once, and I spent at least an hour trying to pluck up the courage. Thing was, once you slid down to the leaping off point, there was no climbing back so I might as well have just gone for it. I remember younger kids sliding down to the ledge with me and then going off straight away but I really struggled with that decision. Clearly I did and survived, but once was enough for me....
