Behind the scenes

The weekend, many buildings that are not open to the public in Glasgow are opened for special viewings. Today's blip shows two of these.

On the left, Whitevale Flats. Built in 1964 and due for demolition in 12 months, this empty block gives 360 degree views from the 29th floor across the city. You can see the balcony that goes all the way round each floor - this made these flats unique as folk could actually walk right past your door and window even 29 floors up! We got all the way to the top - very eery!

On the right, the dressing room at the famous Barrowland Ballroom. I'll bet it could tell a few stories.

More photos from both venues posted tomorrow here and on a Flickr set as we are heading out again to more venues.
