Over the Horizon

Pearl district

My last day in Portland. Packing up and tying off odds and ends before moving on again. I spent the day returning to that wonderful book store engrossed in the most beautiful of stories. Hooked on a short series my friend recommended and devouring all three books in a matter of days. Food for the soul and imagination....

Otherwise, wandering the downtown streets and snapping a few photos of city sights in the late afternoon amongst the Pearl District, full of renovated and remodeled warehouses turned boutique art galleries. Chic shops and trendy resturants juxtaposed with the grim and gritty homeless that seem everywhere in Portland.

Picking up some groceries for dinner. Cooking up an all local meal of lemon and rosemary trout on the grill with basted stalks of asparagus and brown rice. Washed down with a bottle of white wine straight from the Willamette Valley. A parting gift to show thanks and indulge in one last very long late night conversation and many laughs with Wes. Good friend and host to boot. Until next time!

Onward to Seattle.
