Croome Court
We went out this morning expecting the clouds to clear leaving us with a warm sunny day. It was warm alright but the sun didn't appear until we got back closer to home.
Croome Court was the destination - never having been before it looked a nice walk where we could take the dog. It was much larger tan I expected - similar to Stowe Gardens, but, while a lovely place, not quite as varied and pleasant as Stowe. Not having the constant drone of racing cars or bikes was a great upside although the M5 could clearly be heard.
This waterscape was created over a period of twelve years. It looks, like much of Capability Brown's work, entirely natural.
I expect in a couple of weeks it will look fabulous as the leaves turn in greater numbers.
On the way back we dropped a couple more things off with Jamie at his digs. The whole house and their parents arrived just after we got there. He told us a bit more about his job with the university - his second job that is. He worked all day yesterday and expects quite a bit this week during freshers week. Hopefully all this work on his CV will count enormously when he is looking for a years placement later in the year. Fingers crossed!
