Shameless Double Selfie
The view out the back of Richard's house really is very good (I apologise that we appear to have got in the way of it here :p)
Took a train up to Derby on Friday evening where I was met by Richard and his new car, Doug, who very kindly drove us to a little town with a very, very good gastro-pub. I had very yummy beef stroganoff and Richard had equally delicious paella (pronounced correctly, fyi). Very nice indeed.
Woke up early on Saturday which meant we had time to be lazy, fall back to sleep and wake up for the second time all by 10:30. Eggs on toast, a stroll into Derby, two very nice mochas (Patisserie Valerie comes highly recommended) and a walk in the park preceded. We also went on a hunt for fresh mussels for our dinner, but apparently they are currently out of season. Who knew mussels had a season, so we bought the ready made kind which were still delicious, accompanied by some Southern Comfort and some chilled music.
I also got to meet Larry, a very handsome cat who comes visiting on the back decking and took the opportunity to grab my camera and snap some photos of him, before grabbing this shot.
Lazy weekends are the best, especially in such good company.
