Neither Here Nor There

Pastoral

It was such a lovely, warm Sunday that I decided to follow the Chevin Geology Trail just to see what was out there.

Looking to the north, I could see the small lake and the boats on it. I watched them for a while as they sailed about on lazy, unhurried courses, the gentle breeze wafting them here and there on a mirror-smooth surface. How I envied them, even though soldiers (even retired ones like myself) don't like boats as a rule.

It wasn't until I looked at this image that I noticed the foliage in the lower right-hand corner and realised that Autumn is almost upon us. It made me appreciate a day such as this even more.

The rest of the pics from the walk are here.

Smooth sailing, Blippers.
