Messing about on boats
Spent the weekend with family in Stafford. The weather was glorious, and I know we Brits go on about it, but it really does make a difference. The youngest in the family, the twins, now approaching 3 and their older cousins had such fun playing together in the garden. Such fun to see the joy in their little faces as they were chased about the garden, swung around and flung in the air.
Today we spent a very leisurely afternoon puttering along the canal in a canal boat. The first time I've done this I think. It was idyllic, slowly taking in the passing scenery and wildlife, a water vole crossed our path at one point. The blip is a view I have never seen before - the inside of a lock from a boats-eye view. Surprisingly quick to raise from lower to upper level. What ingenius engineering.
To top a beautiful day, we were accompanied on our journey home by the most enormous clear moon.
