Stephanie is Gone
This photo is from the back cover of the memorial folder handed out yesterday at the Celebration of Life for our friend Stephanie. See yesterday's page for the front cover of the folder.
Her daughter posted these words on FaceBook about the photo:
"The picture is from my wedding. She looked fantastic, and she hosted the wedding so she was so busy getting everything ready she only had about 2 minutes for herself. She used those 2 minutes well!"
Randy & Stephanie had their youngest daughter's wedding in their own backyard with several hundred quests present. It was a lovely event.
This morning her husband, Randy, posted these thoughts on Stephanie's Memorial Page in FaceBook:
"A memory from this morning: Getting up early and out to the kitchen to make her favorite french toast, her wandering out a bit later to the smell of the food, one of my t-shirts on as jammies, and her hair all over the place, no make-up, looking drop-dead gorgeous to me. Just the right amount of powedered sugar and a glass of milk, as we discussed the weekend plans and play a bit of footsies under the table."
We, his friends, are privileged to read Randy's thoughts as he now begins the tremendously difficult job of putting the pieces of his life together and moving a step forward one-day-at-a-time.
I hope he will continue to write his feelings, his memories, his thoughts -- that his written words will become a valued precious part of their family album.
Watching Stephanie's FaceBook Memorial Page grow with photos and the words of her family and friends is amazing. It is the first time, I think, that I have seen this done in such a comprehensive way. Lots and lots and lots of friends are adding photos and adding messages.
Good night from the land where autumn has arrived! Woohoo!
