Big Ship!
This is the stern (back end!) of the tanker "Marbat", taken underneath the Forth Railway Bridge this morning. The "Marbat" is, according to Wiki, about one thousand feet long and two hundred across and is some 163,000 tone gross tonnage. Big ship indeed!
We originally set out for Dalmeny on a steam train hunt. The Ryder Cup Special was leaving Edinburgh for Perth this morning and, with no route details published, we took a chance that it would cross the Forth Bridge on the way to Perth. Wrong! It must have gone via Falkirk and Stirling which would have suited us to a tee.
However, in consolation, we treated ourselves to a very tasty brunch and a great view of the two bridges at the Orocco Pier in Queensferry. Their "Full Scottish" went down a treat and I will not need much more feeding today!
