Another Languedoc year...

Pomme tiddly om pom

This morning I picked the lovely first crop of Reine de Reinettes (King of the Pippins). I've been collecting the odd apple as they have fallen or to test them but today they really were ready. Now I just have to find a way to keep a few to see how they develop.

I'm really delighted with them. The trees and fruit look in very good shape after two years in the ground. The first year we pruned them heavily so they could develop a good root system and I think that's paid off.

This tree was a present from blippers Juggsy & DC. Thanks girls! Cider next year.
