Drum Circle

Nothing like the beat of several dozen drums to get the energy flowing :)

One of DC's smaller and lesser known parks, Meridian Hill (or Malcolm X to locals) park features a drum circle every sunday. It attracts a great cast of characters --drummers, dancers, hoola hoopers, and spectators. I must remember to return there!

It's interesting to me that this has become such a diverse gathering place: as little as 30 years ago, you'd risk your life wandering around that neighborhood in daylight. Progress. :)

ps: congrats to flowerspasms, who immediately figured out what my blip of yesterday was! As a bonus, I learned a new word: I had just called it "the big ball" until yesterday! ;)
