Berten
The past two days I was at the inspiration days of the Belgian Professional photographers association in Malle, Belgium. The name was chosen well: it was really inspiring, not only because of the presentations but just as much by all the nice people that attended. It was fun to talk to a lot of old and new friends, of course drink a few Westmalle triples with them and hang out in the bar way too long.
One of them was Berten Steenwegen, a real friendly guy that I met a couple of years ago in Gent. At this convention he shot the backstage photos, most of the time barefoot. Berten did a couple of great photo projects recently: one was a series and a book about a motorcycle trip on Royal Enfield's in the Himalaya to raise money for a lung transplant fund. And this summer he made a second trip, in South America this time: from the Andes to the Amazone. A photo book about that trip will be published soon...
