The rainbow

Friday September 20th was, with great interest, the official opening of the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the Hofstraat in Landgraaf.

Many people responded to the call to think about a name for the bridge. The councilor announced that is selected from the many entries for 'The Rainbow'. Six local residents, who had put forward the name, all individually received a flower. The 6-year-old Deveny got the honor to place the new nameplate together with the mayor.

And an other alderman cut the official ribbon along with representatives of several local Associations as well as the designers and builders of the bridge. Harmony St. Michael of the Eikske provided the musical entertainment.

Landgraaf is a bridge richer, an 'eyecatcher'!
