Fall in the Rocky Mts

Here it is the second day of Fall, trees not anywhere near turning color yet, and we got snow on the mountains overnight! I love the wild ride of the weather this time of year. Sometimes it is hot and sunny, sometimes it is cold and rainy, and sometimes it is both in the same afternoon!
I love the Fall season for its assault on the senses - the feel of the crisp air, the sound of leaves rustling in the breeze, the sight of trees bursting into glorious colors, the smell of homefires burning, and the taste of fall harvest.
Yup, there's snow in the mountains - it is time to put the outside grill away and get out the crockpot.
