My day off today happened to coincide with Coventry farmers' market - I do wonder about the wisdom of scheduling these during normal working hours, but I was lucky today. Apple man (sorry I can't remember his name) is a regular at Market Bosworth (more sensible, a Sunday morning) in the season and was in Coventry today. I picked up some perry, plums and most excitingly the first apples of the season. Delicious; a good apple is unbeatable.
