Birthday Bonanza - Part II
It was our second instalment of this weekend's Birthday antics & boy what a feast it was!
We joined our beautiful & lovely family & friends to have a good old knees up in celebration of William's 18th Birthday. It was a brilliant & fun day & much mingling, nibbling & sipping was enjoyed by all. Janice gave a sweet & touching speech in honour of her now taller (Willow's words, he feels taller now he's reached 18 apparently!) & grown up (yeah right!) son. On top of the wonderful spread of canapés & breads & dips, Rachel made some tasty & marvellously decorated cakes! Will's Ma Janice & Pa George can be seen either side, & his Nan Estrella is sitting far side. Cute as a button, little Ffion is just peeping her head over the counter, no doubt using her Dad Andy as a stool. It was a treat to have so many of us all together at once, enjoying the day!
Will got some cracking prezzies, including a wicked looking Leatherman (he'll cut his hand off before he does anything practical with it I'm sure), aftershaves, shirt & ties, some wonderful House M.D. cufflinks ('it's not Lupus') courtesy of Aunty Spishy, aftershaves, hip flask, wallet, a helmet camera for skiing/ snowboarding (cannot wait for him to try that out)... just a few bits really. We bought him some 18 year old whiskey & a special whiskey glass for him to swirl his liquor in. He seemed to love it which we're thrilled about, & in the evening as we sat in the warm glow of the fire pit, it was a pleasure share a glass with him. It went down a treat!
Nurtured & matured for 18 years - that's what we thought.
What a lovely occasion.
