Third Year Abroad

So Monday was my first day of classes, although starting at 3:30 wasn't too much effort... However the idea of 2 hour lectures is not that appealing, I find it difficult enough concentrating in one hour Spanish lectures! We didn't start off too well either as of course, it being Spain, there were two classrooms both called A1. So instead of turning up to Auditorio 1 we ended up waiting outside Aula 1 for a good twenty minutes before realising our mistake and being the awkward latecomers to the lecture. As it turned out it was only an introductory lecture and she let us out after another 20 minutes. Our next class was supposed to be directly after the first, but as we'd been let out early we thought it would a good time to go to the bank again. Helen had already been once to open her account and so it was just a matter of picking up her card. Or so we thought. Sitting in the bank for an hour and a half while the one guy working there tried to deal with several people as once proved us very wrong. Eventually we were told that the bank card will be sent to her in the post...

Later we headed out to a few bars for drinks and tapas, starting in Brasilia but then headed over towards the Cathedral area to find some different places. Being quite a large and indecisive group we ended up wandering around for quite some time before going back the way we came and heading towards the Albaicin to find a couple of really cool places. This picture is from the second of the two bars which was pretty alternative and Mexican in feel, whereas the other one had Buddhist quotes on the walls and statues of giant heads, you definitely get quite the mix of places here!
