The hive bees are busy again on another lovely indian summer day but the wasps remain a real nuisance. MrB who popped over after welding some broken bits on our garden tractor mowing deck had a quick look and thought it best to restrict the entrances so that the bees can more easily defend it. We are so lucky to be able to count MrB as a friend with all his many skills. Could only return the gesture with some tomatoes and eggs. Thanks MrB.

Tomorrow will remove the varroa mite sponges - had a peep inside today & the vapour is still very strong.
