When you go on a geography field trip...
... you actually go to a field!
Had the most wonderful day, spent out and about on a field trip in glorious sunshine!
Firstly we had a tour of the Energy Recovery Facility in Newhaven, which was really interesting (seriously - I've passed it loads of times and always wanted to go in!) and then we visited some sites which are popular for school trips, such as Birling Gap and Seaford. I think we all had a great time and zipping through the Sussex countryside in a convoy of cars full of my fellow uni students made me laugh as it felt a bit like we were in some mad, slapstick comedy movie! While we were at Newhaven I saw the cliff I sketched way back during my first ever Open University residential school and, crazy as it may sound, it felt like I'd just found a long-lost old friend and it brought back so many happy memories.
This is the lovely (and text-book-classic) view of the meanders at Cuckmere Haven.
