Shipwreck
Just across the road from the house where we were staying was this sad abandoned and burnt out boat. But it gives a good example of the beautiful shoreline and scenery. What is so lovely is that the place is almost deserted but not in an eerie sense - just it has never really been occupied. Well not since the disaster of the potato famine. Famine burial grounds are signposted all too frequently.
Because of the influence of the Gulf Stream drift there are hedges of fushia and palm trees and geraniums were still in full flower
