A splash of colour

We have been to Provence on many occasions, but never once have we been here in July, during the Lavender season. Then the fields are, apparently, a picture of blue. I see it on the postcards, but have never seen it for myself. One day . . . perhaps!

Meanwhile . . . we were in the Sault area today, on our way up Mont Ventoux, when we saw a bit of colour, where Lavender has continued flowering. Mostly all you can see for miles round here is field after field of lines of plants. And of course the market in Sault, which we just happened upon (!), has a lot of lavender in all its forms for sale. I bought a large bag of it - more of this next month.

We made it to the top, but it is very scary (I think so anyway!) going up that zigzagging 42-kilometere road with precipitous drops at every turn, especially when there are so many cyclists also making their way up and down. Not a lot to see when we got to the top today, as it was too cloudy, but at least it wasn’t so windy you could hardly stand up; as it was last time we were up. The clue is in the name!
