Goodbye Kate

Tomorrow is her last day of work and on Friday she's off travelling again, to Barcelona first and then going to La Tomatina and a beer festival in Munich, amongst other things. Jealous, moi?! I'm really going to miss her - we've worked together for over two years and the place won't be the same without her wicked sense of humour. I'll also miss chatting/moaning on the way to and from work and our occasional mega-beer sessions. Still, at least she's coming back and not disappearing back to Oz, hooray! Tomorrow is going to be really strange, I always go into denial when I have to say goodbye to someone and can never really face it until they're gone.

Tonight we went with Alan for dinner at this incredible new restaurant called Leith Lynx. Alan has been raving about it for a while - please check out the menu and pay it a visit if you can. The prices are incredible and the food is excellent. My chicken, bacon, mushroom and tarragon pie (above) was only £6.80 and was filled with proper chicken - as in bits stripped from a roast and not those horrible reconstituted lumps you find in most places nowadays. The sauce and pastry were also excellent, the chips were to die for and the puddings are all only £3 each. What's not to love?!
