Hidden history

When we pulled up the carpet a couple of years ago, we found this old hearth plate, presumably from when the landing used to be part of a bedroom. It's nothing special but I love finding things like this. Tomorrow it will be covered in carpet again. I wonder who will find it again next...probably just us as I can never imagine we will be able to afford to move!
