The Close Hotel, Kenilworth, 21 November 1940
Tragic.
"Near this spot stood the Close Hotel,
destroyed by enemy action
on the night of 21 November 1940
killing 28 people.
Their names are recorded
on a tablet in the cemetery chapel."
"Few bombs landed in Kenilworth but, in 1940, a parachute-mine wrecked the Globe Hotel in Abbey End, with the loss of 28 lives, mostly people trying to escape from the Coventry Blitz."
