Daytrippers
Yesterday's grumpiness was in part because I felt I needed to get out and about and do more. So today my mum and I have taken a little trip to visit Donegal Castle. The tall part of the building is the original castle built in the 15th century by the O'Donnell clan. Following Ireland's defeat in the Nine Year's War and the subsequent Flight of the Earl's the castle was given to the Brooke family who added the English Manor style building, part of which you can see at the front. Looks a bit tacked-on doesn't it?
Spent the evening at An Grianan theatre watching Eugene O'Brien's play Eden. We both enjoyed it, although my mother claimed to be baffled by the ending.
