MYSTERY SOLVED

Most mornings we cross paths with these angora goats. We are going for a walk up the koppies to keep fit and assumed that the goats were going to new pastures to fatten up.
Not so! They are also going for a brisk walk on the main road out of Prince Albert to keep fit. They are accompanied by 3 life style trainers armed with red flags to warm impatient drivers to slow down.
Part of their regime is a bath in a raised dam which doubles as a swimming pool for the farm children in the hot weather. All this is in preparation for the up coming shows and auctions.
"Baie duur" remarked one of the life style trainers rolling his eyes in the direction of the trotting goats.
"Ja", I replied, "dis nie vir chops nie !"
A friend who has watched the dosing and inoculation procedures explained it all to me. Metal garden chairs are placed in a circle. The goats are then flipped into the chairs where they sit bewildered as the jabs and doses are swiftly administered by the team of workers each armed with a different application. Before they know what has happened they are flipped out of the chairs again and sent on their way and the next group are seated, fat bellied with splayed legs, waiting their turn. All very efficient!
The walkers are all rams and D has named them " The Pretty Boys"
