Hoist by my own petard

A few months ago, I applied for an entry in the 2014 London Marathon in the public ballot. Houblon and B were doing this at the same time. It's fair to say they were keener than I was on the idea. Anyway, I think there are witnesses who heard me say, "Nobody gets in via the ballot. I'm quite safe". Turns out I wasn't safe. That'll teach me... So I'll be starting to train in due course Houblon has applied for a charity place, so the begging bowl will be coming out next year. Please give generously.... B has a place as well and his eldest son is planning to try for a charity place, so that'll be 4 of us training...
