Granite picnic tables cira 1859

These huge granite slabs are from the base of Isambard Kindom Brunel's bridge over the river Walkham which was constructed in 1859. The bridge was demolished in the 60's when the railway line closed. A new £7m was bridge opened last year as part of Drakes Trail. This in turn is part of National Cycle Network 27 and this now links Ilfracombe with Plymouth. The slabs are alongside the cycle path.
