Wine

We spent a few days roaming the burgundy wine area and headed for Domaine des Marrans vineyard where a long time favourite wine Fleury is produced. This proved to be a good camp site and all the better after we attended a wine tasting in the evening. This was a experience, - only understanding every 12 words was one reason, the other was tasting wines previously unknown to us, Chirouble, Julienas and Morgon. The evening gave us a better understanding of the way wine varieties are decided and it was interesting to hear that the son of the business had spent time in New Zealand and Australia on vineyards. We have come home with a few bottles of all the above, and certainly the Fleury was very good, particularly the bottle that came from 120 year old vines.
