So I know I haven’t written in ages. But having been unwell for most of the beginning of the week, there wasn’t too much to report really... my voice decided to make a run for it one day, which wasn't exactly funny but at least it kept me quiet.
This morning I started with a 4 hour class. I woke up and in all honesty, I was dreading it a little bit. We split into our assignment groups to continue working through the case study with help of the teacher. After a good half hour of work, conversations gradually drifted from being business oriented to our social lives. People casually left the room to smoke, or we’d go for a coffee half way through class, only to find our lecturer standing with us, coffee in his hand, and just talking with us. So even though it was a 4 hour class, after every hour of work we pretty much had an hour break. In everything you do here, things always seem a little bit all over the place, and no one really seems to bother, you just have to learn to go along with the ‘no-stress’ culture.
In the afternoon I then headed into to town for a little bit with a friend. To my surprise I unexpectedly ran into Amel (a friend from home) who had just arrived the night before. I’d been waiting for her to also finally arrive to Lyon, so it was amazing to have a chat and see a familiar face from back home again.
In the evening we went for dinner with a few girls for Penny’s birthday. We enjoyed good food, talked, laughed at a very cute little restaurant called “Bleue de toi”, which means ‘I’m crazy about you’. Once finished with dinner, we all got some delicious ice cream to end the evening and then slowly made our own ways back home.
