Defying the seasons

The sunshine today brought out a surprising number of butterflies, foraging before hibernating in the case of the Commas, Brimstones and Peacocks, or hell bent on enjoying the last supper in the case of this Small White.

In other exciting news:
I managed to get all the grass cut this evening - two hours of continuous mowing, singing and whistling.

Living in isolation, I didn't think anyone could hear me above the noise of the motor mower - until my neighbours through the woods commented on my varied repertoire!
