I went to the farm stand to buy squash for my butternut squash soup. I couldn't believe the array of species many of which I had never seen before. I was surprised at the response to my question. "How can you tell the difference between pumpkins, gourds and squash?" The answer I was given - pumpkins are something you carve. A squash is something you cook and a gourd is something you look at. Must be more to it than that - I'll have to google it for more info. Lots of photo opts - Will go back for more shots. I'm getting into the blip thing and it's going on 2 weeks. Thank you Emma.
