Water Fools

Keswick held probably the most spectacular event it has ever had. The French troupe Ilotopie performed Fous de Bassin (Water Fools) on Derwentwater. Yes, actually on the water. They had a car, a caravan, a giant four poster bed and many other waterborn craft. As a finale, there was an amazing firework display that seemed to go on for ages. The event attracted over 7000 people on each of the two nights, all of them crammed onto Hope Park overlooking the lake. The weather was gorgeous and although nobody seemed to understand what it was all about, everyone really enjoyed themselves.
