Just not cricket....

Well it is a cricket , but it caused domestic mayhem. Had spent a large part of the morning on my new ( secondhand) Xbox and my bargain game Mass Effect (£4) I was a bit behind with the wifely duties. Steve has now been vegetarian for two months which is a complete pain at mealtimes great. This morning I teased him saying that Ellie and I would be having Steak and chips and what did he want instead. However, within seconds I had given the game away that I was actually making a lentil pie ( surprisingly lush ) Well I thought it was funny ......until 3pm arrived and nothing done. So I started mucking out tidying the kitchen and making Crunchy Rice pastry. As I went to recycle the butter tub I saw this gorgeous fellow on the recycling bin. Needless to say the boiling lentil mixture then took second place to me dashing about with the camera. The ring light has been a great investment for 100 quid. It enables me to use faster shutter speeds and a lot of my macrp shots are now hand held. Having taken a load of shots I liked , I then went back in, stirred the lentils, got out my tripod and then took a few more.
A bit of turbodashing round the kitchen with a hoover, then a mop while the pie cooked and you would never know I had not been a domestic goddess all day.
I had nearly finished when Ellie phoned for a lift but had got off at the wrong stop. So by the time Steve tracked her down and got home all was peaceful, tidy and tasty :-)
I wonder if he is the grown up version of the nymph I took earlier in the year. Do look in large. The mouthparts are amazing. Recipe for lentil pie on request!
