Morning musings

The morning light was just making its way through the trees to wake up these blossoms. Not that we were up especially early, it's just that in this season the morning light comes later!
I marveled at all the stages of development on one level of the plant's stem.
New blooms just unfurling, old blooms closed forever, and one glorious bloom at its peak.
I think this is a good picture of life. Even as I get older, it doesn't mean that everything is shutting down! There is still the delight of discovering new things, and even peaking at something later in life.
What a treat to find such a colorful reminder in the midst of the fall season!
