PUKEKO Porphyrio porphyrio

There are two things about todays blip of the Pukeko - the first is that Pukeko dont fly much. Its therefore quite hard to get them in flight. I got two flying today!
The second is - a quick head count around our Estuary shows there are a lot of Pukeko around this year. I think this is because they are more evident as a result of all the building activity pushing them out of their habitat! - Similarly round the world - buiding activity is pushing out the flight-path landing areas for Bartailed Godwit, especially in china!!
