Hot Lips

...on an otherwise dreary, wet, dark day, spent at home. When the rain stopped briefly in late afternoon, I wandered for a few minutes in the back yard/garden, and this eye-catching salvia (Salvia microphylla) -- yes, known as 'Hot Lips' -- was the only bright spot there.

Earlier in the year, we saw a female hummingbird enjoying this plant; I hope it will grow larger next year and attract more hummingbirds.

I indulged myself in several hours of research today for our next big trip -- it's amazing how much detailed information you can find online about places to stay, transportation options, things to do, and so much more!
