Heading Back to Civilisation
We had a good half day paddling over to the other side of the Loch and down to Bonny Prince Charlie's statue at the bottom end of the loch. We both felt much happier in the boat and even Pegs curled up for a while and had a snooze. It was wierd geting back to civilisation. We had a pub meal at the hotel, which was really busy with a wedding party from the previous day and I felt really self conscious I'd not had a shower since Thursday night! Urghh! My hair was in knots so I had to cover it over with a head scarf - very apres ski!
So we headed off to our campsite with full facilities and even though we had an amazing view of a snow-capped Ben Nevis through the door of our tent, I missed our little wildness beach at loch shiel and wanted to go back! The midges were also terrible at the campsite because it was so sheltered - I got almost hysterical trying to fend them off, but there was no way we could stop them getting in to the main bit of the tent so in the end we had to retire to the sleeping bit at about 8.30pm and I fell asleep! All this fresh air!
