in the front room

There was some debate when I was converting the house about incorporating this into the extended kitchen at the back - effectively making one big room of the downstairs. I still think it's nice to have a separate room to retreat to in the evenings, and it's nice not to see all the clutter after you've been cooking, but there would have been some advantages too.

More light in the big room - the front of the house faces South, when lots of people come round you could all congregate in one area more easily and the wood burner would have heated the whole downstairs.

A recovery day from dashing about and the toothache!
